New tax incentives (Senate Bill 1402 - AZ) and a new way to combat budget cuts

Here it is, Independence Day, 2009!

Many of us are anticipating many new opportunities since our new administration has moved through the process of setting up a new mindset for progress. We have seen incredible instances of economic activities, as well as, fast expenditures. While many companies have cut jobs over the last year, it does look like opportunities for creating income are coming to the surface.

As I speak with individuals in various industries, everyone seems to agree. We need to redefine our thought processes and our expectations for commerce. This week in Arizona, we saw an example of a coming together of the minds on the senate floor. Senate Bill 1403 passed last Friday in the House. This bill awaits the signature of the past Secretary of State, now new Governor, Jan Brewer who filled the position following Janet Napolitano's move to the White House.

I'll share some details that Ryan Randazzo of the Arizona Republic wrote in the Tuesday, June 30, 2009 edition in the business section. "The bill includes a refundable income-tax credit based on the jobs created, as well as a possible property-tax reclassification.

)Renewable-energy factories or company headquarters could get a 10 percent income-tax credit on capital investment.

)Companies that spend at least $25 million also could have their real-and personal-property taxes reclassified, saving them about 80 percent.

)Companies that pay between 125 percent of the median state wage (between 25 percent more to nearly double the state average wage) get a 10-year reclassification.

)Companies that pay 200 percent or more (more than double) the average wage get a 15-year reclassification.

)To qualify, the majority of jobs must pay 25 percent more than the median wage in the state.

)The company must provide health care coverage and pay at least 80 percent of premiums."

The bill has covered some important elements to bring Renewable energy manufacturing to the state. Creating higher income level jobs is important to the states economy. There has been broad discussion over the rest of the state budget facing severe cuts. The school budget has been severely affected with an already less than adequate presence nationally. Wage cuts have affected teachers. I am one who supports our teachers. They are important to the future of our children. Since we are so closely affected by budget cuts, I have put Sherlock on this one and he has hit the jackpot already!

He has put his furry little paws on a grass roots effort; fundraising activities. As is usually the case, the campaign gets everyone on the same page to produce success for the cause. These are helping schools and non-profit organizations create additional funding sources. Products (which are actually rebuilding health and creating solutions to the obesity epidemic in our youth) are offering consumable alternatives to candy drives and car washes in an industry that has grown over 500% in the past couple of years. In fact, the products offered have passed the scrutiny of drug screening and are endorsed by professional athletic organizations. A large portion of the proceeds are helping fund the Health Corp; an organization created by Dr Oz to overcome obesity in children.

The true value in these fundraising efforts is that non-profits can raise their funds and receive 100% of the profits and can even utilize their non-profit status by saving the price of tax. These activities can be ongoing. It's worth checking out these products. This is the purest form of leverage I have seen lately.

You can get a copy of the power point presentation FREE to show you how much funding you can get in order to raise your funds quickly for your school or organization. Email me at findfunds@commercialfrequency.com. Your power point presentation will be emailed to you.

As usual, Sherlock has 'sniffed' another great one out!
Let me know your questions. I'll get back with you.

Sherlock - The Movie

This is the first in the series of articles we will be presenting to share little known techniques and revenue sources to promote your business or product or brand yourself. Sherlock is the star of this show. So I'm beginning with an introduction. What better way than with movies!

Yesterday, I was in the mood for a matinee. I started out on this memorial Day Weekend with a movie. The feature was 'Terminator – Salvation'. Of all the Terminator movies, I enjoyed this one the most. Christian Bale won me over as Batman so when I heard he was starring in the next Terminator, I couldn't wait until the premier. Believe me, it was worth the time!

While I was waiting for the feature presentation, one of the trailers began. To my surprise, one of my favorite actors flashed onscreen; Robert Downey, Jr. as the, oh so clever character, Sherlock Holmes! I've included several pieces of footage, intriguing interviews, and titillating clips to get a glimpse of entertainment to come. This reincarnation of the famous Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's great detective, 'Sherlock - the Movie' looks to be another smash following the hit, 'Iron Man'. I can hardly wait for the Christmas release!

Sherlock is dear to my heart. His clever undercover disguises enable him to solve the great mysteries of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He is in constant 'ferret-out' mode. Do you know where that term originates? Well, I'll tell you!

In the animal world, one of the quickest , most curious animals is the ferret. It is stubborn, tenacious, and fearless. It is a quick predator in the wild. The domesticated ferret is quite a different story than his wild brother. The Ferret Rescue clubs provide wonderful pets for those of us who love animal challenge and constant delight. Ferrets are the #3 choice for pet lovers! I totally relate to these little furry noses. They will get their paws on everything they are interested in. Hence, the term, 'ferret-out'.

When my children were young, they became intrigued with the local Ferret Rescue group. I made a deal with them. They could choose one ferret each (since there are three of them). They had free reign to build cages, design the environment and generally keep busy as long as their grades stayed up.

The plan worked! We even designed a sleeping house and obtained a patent. It was aptly named, Ferret Barracks(TM). Ferrets are tough little guys. They have a destructive habit, though. When they prepare themselves for sleep, they nest. (scratch!). That ferret scratching 'protocol' can destroy most materials. So we found the toughest camouflage canvas we could get our hands on and developed the prototype. The final product is being prepared for manufacturing.

Those three ferrets; Rockefeller, Edward, & Kirby helped my children through some difficult years back then. They brought joy and laughter into our home. The study of their clever antics enabled me to hone my investigative skills for my work in the world of Finance. The business model has developed into an ongoing fluid entity. We have a variety of funding venues. These supply opportunities for most project models which are presented for review. I've been called 'Sherlock' in regard to my unique approach and the results achieved. I embraced the nickname and have included Sherlock as my “Head of Security”. In the current economy, nearly every avenue needs to be viewed with a cautious eye and 'sniffed out' with the tenacity of the ferret nose!

SO, are you ready to strap on your ferret nose? To stay true to Sherlock folklore, dust off your deerstalker, load your calabash, shine up your magnifying lens and sniff out the mystery 'rubber ducky' code. Clue: check out all the Sherlock Movie links! If you solve the mystery, send me an email with the answer.

I'd like to hear your comments on any of my blogs. If you have any questions, please direct them to sherlockHQ@nosyferret.com. We'll get back with you as soon as we can.

I invite you to join me in my fuzzy nose club. Embrace your inner Sherlock!
